Sports Massage or Sports Soft Tissue Therapy involves many options for the elite, amateur or novice athlete:
- Athlete maintenance sessions involve assessment of range of motion, pain limiting factors and biomechanical or gait assessment and then addressing the issues that are adversely affecting your performance. Your type of sport will strongly determine what type of assessment the therapists will perform as each sports has its own specific body needs. Treatment in these sessions involve all types of soft tissue (massage) techniques, stretching, gait advice and home exercises.
- Recovery sessions are more predominently about soft tissue (muscle, fascia, tendon) health. Not as much assessment is needed. Treatment is more general soft tissue (massage) techniques.
- Injury sessions involve assessing the presenting injury and treating accordingly. If the injury needs further investigation (unknown source of pain) we will refer you to the most appropriate practioner. Clinic 88 has an excellent rapport with Canberras Sports Medicine network.
